IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING COVID -19
As the Government restrictions have altered, we are now fully back to work, but we are maintain safety at work, and with families, by continuing to adhere to ‘ hands, face, space’ and whilst we now will do some home-visiting, this is combined with telephone calls, garden visits and walk and talks, as we have found this is effective during the COVID pandemic, for both us and the families we support.
Working alongside Families
Being a parent has never been easy. It can be lonely, frustrating, heart-breaking and overwhelming.
Our dedicated Home-start Volunteers and Family Support Workers support families with one-to-one support. Before COVID this was done via a home visit. Now, we support families over the telephone, and other means, providing a wide range of targeted support for parents and their children.
Life-changing events can happen to anyone. All parents struggle at one time or another. That is why Home-Start is ready to support families through their toughest times, providing friendly befriending, giving parents emotional and practical support.
Home-Start works with families experiencing a number of challenges including:
· Children's health, well-being and development
· Home Environment
· Financial worries
Just two hours a week can make a big difference to a parent and their children.
We work with families to build on their strengths and give them the support they tell us they need.
All our services are based around the principle that Volunteers and Staff offer no judgement, just compassionate, confidential help and support.
Home-Start support is completely free, you do not have to pay for any of our support.
'Home-Start is a fantastic service and it has helped me a lot. I feel so much better about myself, thank you for your help.'
